Letter: Groveland's best choice is Dalton

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — To the editor:

What Groveland needs are honest people in office. Regarding the letter to the editor on April 12, I urge people of Groveland to see through this smear campaign and who is truly behind it.

As stated on candidate’s night, I do not have a lawsuit against the town. I had a grievance which was resolved and resigned effective August 29, 2012. I find it ironic that the focus is on a monetary component and how that somehow would diminish my husband’s worth. I would strongly recommend that Groveland residents watch candidate’s night. With all its planted questions, I think any intelligent person can see through this.

We are not negative people and refuse to send any damaging statement back. We are real people, not politicians. We believe that bullying is not an effective way to control any situation. We believe that instead of complaining be proactive and do something about it. This is what we teach our children.

We handpicked Groveland to live and raise our children. While I moved around a lot we wanted a place to plant some roots. We have been together for 23 years, married 19 and have lived in Groveland for 11 years. My husband has worked very hard in the financial services industry to give our family everything we have. My husband loved this town so much that he convinced his mother and grandmother to move here, as well. He has volunteered at every level in town sports and their boards. As a family, we have volunteered three years for the senior dinner. We believe charity starts at the home. We are proud to have made some lifelong friends in Groveland which we admire, respect and stand behind.

Anthony Dalton is an honest man with great integrity and leadership skills.

Groveland is a great place to live and my husband wants to try to help keep it that way.
