Obama has again insulted and demeaned our country and our military by freeing five Taliban leaders in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a deserter and traitor. Bergdahl is a self-confessed Taliban sympathizer who claims to have forgotten how to speak English during his five years with the Taliban. His father, a Muslim radical, spoke to his son in Pashto, the language of the Taliban. The military is saying that at least six American soldiers may have died trying to find Bergdahl. The man ought to be court-martialed and imprisoned. Obama ought to be impeached for breaking the law. Then again, the law never meant much to him.
The release of an American soldier has ignited quite a debate. Is Bergdahl a hero? I say yes because he survived being held a prisoner of war. The “deal” for his release, I’m not happy about that. We should not have let the top five Taliban leaders go. Obama has put our country at risk just to be a hero himself. Happy for the soldier and his family, but sad and scared for our country!
I am an employed taxpayer living in the city of Haverhill and I strongly support the proposed debt exclusion for a new school to replace the Hunking and Greenleaf schools. This exclusion is for a particular project with an end date. I will hopefully in the next 25 years finish paying my mortgage and own my home. In that sense I am proudly “stuck” in Haverhill. Class size is merely one factor prospective home buyers may consider when searching for a home. Class size is easily found on real estate websites such Zillow. If class sizes increase throughout Haverhill when Hunking closes, home sellers may be “stuck” in Haverhill even longer than they expect to be now.
