Warren
Wow, I never thought I would see the day that I would consider Sen. John Kerry the more moderate of the two Massachusetts senators. In electing Elizabeth Warren senator, Massachusetts got an ultra left-winger who lied on her job applications and has absolutely no legislative experience. I guess character and honesty is not relevant — at least not in Massachusetts, where John Tierney also won re-election. Congratulations to Jim Lyons, who held his state representative seat, and to Lenny Mirra, who won the seat now held by Harriet Stanley.
Smart voters
President Obama’s re-election proves the insignificance of all the disparaging rhetoric and newspaper endorsements. Congratulations to the electorate for voting with their minds and knowledge after taking the time to read and research their decisions.
Mayor’s plan
Let me see if I have this straight. The mayor of Methuen has twice come up with a plan to save the town money, and the council doesn’t like it because they don’t like laying off anyone? Yet, you readily gave away money to the police union. Councilors, are you serious? It’s not an endless well! Money doesn’t grow on trees!
Move forward
Move forward, Mr. President! Unemployment stands at 7.9 percent today, higher than when you took office. We have a slow growing economy, everything is going to China, soaring deficits, and a national debt that is unsustainable. We have a threat of a nuclear Iran, and the continuing al-Qaida menace. And then, Mr. President, there is Libya. What really happened there? Four Americans were murdered, with no help from the commander-in-chief. Move forward? Mr. President, you have no clue how to accomplish this. All you care about is spending money and entertaining with the elite. For all of you who put Obama back in office, you will see your miracle man at work. You just helped him in flushing this country down the toilet.
Blame conservatives
Greece is in financial trouble and also has 25-percent unemployment. Of course, their prime minister is a conservative. What else? Isn’t it always the conservatives who get a country into financial trouble. Just guessing, but I will wager that Greece also has its 1 percenters, which are the billionaires. This sounds a little familiar, doesn’t it? When Greece, this country or any other country is in financial trouble with high unemployment, look to the 1 percent that owns it all. If they do not put some of their money in circulation they will always have a problem. It’s simple economics — if the money stands still so does everything else.
A nightmare
The mean-spirited Obama machine swamped the Republicans in this election. It did this by forming a winning coalition that will hold for years. The Democrats’ goal was to kill the GOP and it succeeded. Unfortunately, it also killed our country. We will never again see a united America and honest elections. The USA will become a third-rate nation in deep debt to countries like China. The Democrats’ victory cost us what the Founding Fathers fought so hard to establish. The American Dream is now a socialist nightmare.
