Sound Off

Flight safety

I'm reading all of the articles in Sound Off, the editorials, and the letters to the editor that are against the new rules and regulations of the airline industry in trying to make us as safe as possible. If the rules that are going to be used aren't as flattering or as neat as you would like them to be, then take a bus or a car or a train. But if you want to fly, then I think we should do anything and everything that the airline requests. It's called safety. I'd much rather be safe than dead.

Jokes continue

Doesn't the public realize or remember what a joke the interim mayor was? It looks like the jokes are going to continue.

Health care

You want Republican support on the health care bill? You'd get it unanimously if the health care bill were one sentence: Every citizen of the United States shall now be entitled to the same exact health care that government employees are getting. That one sentence for health care will get you every vote you need. But now I think that sentence will make every Democrat say no.

Times changing

Houston, Texas, is the nation's fourth largest city and the citizens there recently elected a lesbian mayor. I congratulate them and I say the times they are a changing.

Electing liberals

Nothing is ever going to change in Massachusetts as long as people keep electing and re-electing liberals. You have a chance to put a dent in one-party rule by electing Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate. Take that chance. Vote.

An outrage

Mark Andrews, the former budget director for the City of Lawrence, is looking for a $21,000 payout for sick time. This is a complete outrage.

Vote Brown

This is a call for the un-enrolled voters of Lawrence: You have the power to vote Republican and put Scott Brown in place. Please wake up, people. Put Scott Brown in. We need a Republican.

Deserves some help

I hope that lovely girl at Lawrence High School will be able to get on the Internet and find one of several organizations that help with prosthetics like the Barr Foundation. Hopefully we'll be reading about her again soon and she'll have the limbs that she deserves to have.

Lantigua's purge

It looks like Lantigua's purge has started. Get rid of everybody. He's taking Lenny Degnan along with him. The purge has begun. Beware Lawrencians.

Toothpaste defense

Am I going to get arrested for drunk drinking if I use Sensodyne toothpaste and Listerine like that Massachusetts senator? I just want to know.

Worse than Carter

I just finished listening to President Obama's address. He's worse than Jimmy Carter.

Birthday cards

Mr. Lantigua, please stop sending me birthday cards and thank you cards for voting for you. I did not vote for you. I don't want a birthday card. At this point, I'm considering it harassment.

Driving school

Shame on the driving school that takes a student out in inclement weather when they're just beginning to learn how to drive. That is definitely not the girl's fault. Young girls are usually more careful when they're learning how to drive. When you put a student in a spot like that, you have to use extreme caution anyway, but I blame the school. It is not the student's fault at all. Shame on them for taking somebody out like that.
