Letter: Ryan-Ciardiello is right choice for School Committee

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — To the editor:

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, we have a very important decision to make. That is, electing the next Haverhill School Committee members.

My name is Katie Dinges and I am a lifelong resident of Haverhill who is supporting the candidacy of Maura Ryan-Ciardiello for Haverhill School Committee.

I attended Haverhill High School and my husband and I currently have two children enrolled in the Haverhill public school system. Education is a priority in our home and being able to have faith in the administration leading the school system is imperative to being a parent of school-age children.

There are many reasons why Maura is such a strong candidate for the Haverhill School Committee. I have been friends with Maura Ryan-Ciardiello for over 35 years. She, too, was raised and educated in Haverhill public school system. She went on to obtain her degrees in education with the belief that she will make a change in the lives of students in Haverhill. Prior to the birth of her three boys, Maura was a tireless and passionate educator for the Haverhill school system. She was an asset to the system due to her energy and enthusiasm.

Maura Ryan-Ciardiello and her husband have also made the choice to raise their children in the Haverhill public school system. Due to the fact that she has children in the school system, you can be assured she will take all areas of education seriously and make improving our school system a priority. Maura’s dedication to school safety is highlighted by the fact that her husband is a state police officer. She will fight to keep all of our kids safe while being educated, which is of significant importance to me as my oldest child enters middle school.

Maura will be a strong voice for parents, teachers and students alike. She is always available to speak with regarding any issue that may arise.

Please join me, my family and my friends in voting for Maura Ryan-Ciardiello on Nov. 5, 2013.
