Supporting Iran
Doing business with Iran. Why are companies like Citgo, British Petroleum (BP), and Lukoil, who support Iran, still selling gas and oil in the United States? This is wrong.
Graphic designer
What exactly does the Lawrence Public School graphic designer do for the staff and students to warrant this full-time position and high salary? Do other cities and towns have such a position, especially in this budget crunch?
Cart before horse
If Speaker Pelosi and President Obama have to pass a bill before they can see what's in it, then it seems to me that they're putting the cart before the horse.
Gas prices
With the price of gasoline right now, I had to stop drinking every day. I guess that's probably a good thing, but I used to enjoy it. I had to cut down; I can't afford it. The way things are today, what's next?
Health reform
It is so horrifying that the health care bill funds abortions all through the nine months of pregnancy. Mrs. Obama is helping children live healthy lives, which is very good, but the president and others don't seem concerned about the killing of innocent, defenseless babies. How can you believe in God and kill babies? Change your hearts before it's too late.
Vandals
I was just reading the Sound Off article about the vandalism at the Haverhill Stadium. The caller referred to the people who did it as "gentlemen." They're not gentlemen. They're not even people; they're animals. They should have gotten more than a slap on the wrist, but you know how the justice system works.
Dumb idea
Kudos to the Haverhill superintendent for having school on March 15 with all these street closings. What a dumb idea that was. Kudos to you.
Clean drains
I'm in my fifties and I remember my mother always telling us to go out and clean the storm drains. I went out driving yesterday. With all the leaves and junk covering all of the storm drains, no wonder we have flooding in some of the areas. If people cleaned the storm drains near their homes, then it might help them.
Changing rules
Once again the Democrats are changing the rules to get their programs through. They tried that with Scott Brown; look at how good it worked for them. If this health care bill passes, then we should work to vote every single Democrat out of office.
Stay in Andover
Dr. Seifert's criticism of Lawrence superintendents and the Lawrence School Committee is arrogant and uninformed. He has not stepped foot into any Lawrence classroom in over ten years. He should stay in Andover and comment instead on their many school problems.
Grateful
We just wanted to thank the good Samaritan who helped us after we were involved in an automobile accident Saturday afternoon on Interstate 495 by Exit 46. A really nice gentleman stopped and helped us. He held my head in place until the ambulance came. He was calm, kind and reassuring. He made sure that my daughter and daughter-in-law were okay. He offered to take them to hospital if they weren't allowed to go in the ambulance with me. I just wanted to thank him.
Fix the road
My car shakes, jumps, and bounces while driving on the bridges on Interstate 495 in Haverhill. It is like going through a blender. When is the state going to fix this very bad situation?
Central win
Since Central Catholic just won the state championship, it would be nice if the City of Lawrence did something nice for those boys who really worked hard this year. Congratulations Central.
