Letter: Lieberman forsakes independence

To the editor:

An open letter to Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman:

Well Joe, it looks like you've made a full recovery from your last election. You remember, Joe, when the Democrats threw you under the bus? I guess you had been misbehaving, huh? You sure put one over on the Big Boys. You jumped ship and ran as an Independent. Good move, Senator. You beat the lightweight they put up against you, and for a while it looked like you really were an Independent.

Sen. Joe, you and Sen. Arlen Specter should start your own political party. You both are made from the same cloth — you could call yourselves the "Turncoats." I guess you and Arlen forgot it was the Republicans and Independents who breathed life into your failing campaigns. So now Joe, you are a man without a party.

But wait, Harry Reid needs 60 votes to advance ObamaCare, you could be the man. The Big Boys would even forgive you for jumping ship that time. You'd be back in the fold.

Well you did it, Joe, you became one of the infamous 60. You sold out. You let us down. Did you make your deal early on, Joe? Or did you hold out like the senator from Louisiana for $300 million? That's what she got, Joe, $300 million. Was it worth it, Senator?

Oh, Joe, one other thing, if you and the other 60 senators didn't have your own Rolls Royce health care plan, would you still have voted for ObamaCare? Let me know when you're up for election next time, OK?
