Letter: Flowers, plants make start of school beautiful

To the editor:

As our new school year begins, the Robert Frost School community sends out a heartfelt thank you to our special Hamlet Street neighbor, Mark Michaud, owner of General Lawn Care Co.

For many years, our staff and families have enjoyed his gifts of poinsettias and lilies at the holidays. However, this summer Mark and his crew outdid themselves! Students and their families returned to school greeted by a charming display surrounding our "welcome" sign. An inviting seating area/wall surrounds a lovely garden of plants and flowers making our main entrance an attractive area for our families. Other neighbors have offered to water the plants and keep a watchful eye on our newly landscaped area.

In his 1914 poem, "The Mending Wall," Robert Frost declared that "good fences make good neighbors." By happy coincidence, we at the Robert Frost School find that good neighbors make our school a much nicer place! On behalf of the students, faculty and parents, we thank our good neighbors.
