To the editor:
State Sen. Kathleen O’Connor Ives, after being in office for a little over a year, continues to work tirelessly for her entire constituency of Newburyport, Salisbury, Amesbury, Merrimac, Haverhill, Methuen and North Andover.
She continues to be bipartisan, independent and an open-minded person. She is also a moderate, middle of the road and mainstream centrist. She continues to get along with both Democrats, Republicans and independents.
Whether you agree or disagree with her on any issue, she is not even close to being disagreeable and continues to smile at you in a warm and friendly manner. In the near future, she deserves to be on committees such as Ways and Means, Judiciary, Public Service, Public Safety and Education.
On April 10, 2013, I visited her office at the Statehouse and her entire office staff treated me with a lot of respect. They spent a lot of time listening to my needs and all of them acted very professionally with me. Whenever I see her in my travels especially in the 1st Essex District, she always shows me her concerns like both Methuen state Reps. Diana DiZoglio and Linda Dean Campbell. I have the utmost respect for these three hard-working and tireless public servants and all three of them show lots of quality and compassion to people from all walks of life.
In 2014, in both the primary and general election, I will continue to strongly support Kathleen O’Connor Ives, Linda Dean Campbell and Diana DiZoglio. All three work very very hard and put in long hours in their districts and sometimes work at the Statehouse until midnight. They deserve long careers in elected state office. With term limits, the city of Boston would not have had a good mayor like Thomas Menino for the last 20 years and Lawrence would not have had the late Mayor John Joseph Buckley for 22 years.
