---- — Privatization

I tremble all over when I see someone that says we should privatize certain jobs. Do they think that privatizing is going to save them money? We must remember one thing — profit always comes first. I don’t care if it’s custodial service or something at the top, they are going to make a big profit. If they don’t think it is big enough the prices will go up. I know. I have seen it more than once, and you can take that to the bank.

Tricked again

Federal pension funds are going directly to the government. Yes, your pension withholding is going to the honorable U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and he is not investing that money for you. He is spending it to barely keep the bloated government afloat. When you think you are going to retire there will be no money there for you. The frauds running our government tricked you people into voting for them. Maybe you will even end up with Obamacare like the rest of us who don’t want it.

Nice surprise

Thank you Friendly’s on Route 110 in Amesbury. I had such a bad day today driving in all that snow, and when I went by your restaurant and saw the multi-colored snowman, I smiled. Thanks for making my bad day happy!

Shovel yourself

To “Sidewalks”, who called on Methuen to shovel the sidewalks: As a taxpayer and walker who welcomes a safe place to go, I do not want the city spending money to clear sidewalks. A little sense of community, anyone? Personal responsibility? My neighbors and I take turns shoveling out the fire hydrants. We shovel the sidewalks in front of our own houses, and if someone’s away, we take care of theirs, too. Everybody’s got their hand out now telling government to fix their lives. Then they all complain about high taxes and everyone giving in to unions and city workers.

Government at all levels have become insane. Locally, our property taxes have increased and now we’re talking about additional parking fees and other charges for services. At the state level, our governor has proposed income tax increases as well as other taxes and fee increases and we all know most of this is going to the “T.” He did lower the sales tax. And of course we have Obama and his Obamacare “tax” and increase in tax rates and Social Security reducing everyone’s net pay. In an economy that is not improving and especially for people on fixed incomes, this is devastating. Where does the insanity stop?

No escape

Has anybody noticed that Deval Patrick’s “restructuring” of what we pay in taxes means that he will finally have his way and anybody who shops in New Hampshire to avoid giving more money to his bloated, corrupt regime will now be “gotten” by paying more in income taxes? No matter what we do, no matter how hard we try, these liberals find ways to get their hands into our wallets. Talk about taxation without representation!
