To the editor:
It is time for Mayor Lantigua to bring his re-election campaign to an end. The people of Lawrence have spoken with their vote. He fell short by 57 votes and I realize at the moment this stings.
I lost my re-election to the Lawrence School Committee in 2009 by 33 votes. I, too, had friends asking me to ask for a recount, but ultimately I knew the decision was made by the people. I did not ask for a recount.
You, too, Mayor Lantigua, should do the right thing and end this. Your political future, if there is to be one, is depending on you to now do what is in the best interest of the city of Lawrence and not yourself. This is no longer about you, but what is best for Lawrence.
God bless you!
