Too loud
I live in North Andover, and for two nights was treated to the extremely loud music and a person screaming into a microphone until all hours of the night. If I wanted to hear it, I would have been over there! Aren't there laws to stop those kinds of things? I can't play music in my house that loud without the police showing up and telling me to turn it down. It's ridiculous!
Go team!
It is great to see the positive attitude in the Methuen High football team. Coach Graham should be highly commended for all that he has done and is still doing for these young men. Good luck, Methuen High! As always, you have the support of us all!
True fans
I couldn't believe the comment about Yankee fans being more welcoming than Boston fans! Are you kidding me? Boston fans are supportive, faithful fans. Yankee fans are "jump on the bandwagon fans" — only if they are winning. Once the Yankees start losing, the fans start booing! Boston fans support their teams regardless of their records. As far as Johnny Damon, he deserved the "welcome" he received when he returned to Boston, He left for the money and not for the love of the game! Yankee players only leave to retire or because they are not "good enough" for their fans. Stop buying your players so that the fans won't boo your team. Watch and learn what a true fan is — the Boston fan!
Electoral College
The Electoral College was established by our country's founders to protect us from big states dominating small states.
Dumbing down
I find it unconscionable that Timberlane has ended mid-term and final exams. After all, we don't want the little darlings to be stressed. I wonder how these pampered prima donnas are going to fare when they have to face mid-terms and exams in college or a test to be certified for a craft like hairdresser, barber, electrician, plumber, insurance and real estate sales etc. It's one more step at dumbing down education — for the children.
Poor planning
Whose bright idea was it to rip up Howe Street the week school starts? Archibald Avenue is now a highway in the middle of the night with trucks so loud the windows shake. Nice planning, fellas.
Flu vaccine
This year's flu vaccine now has the H1N1 serum in it. Does this mean that all the H1N1 vaccine that the manufacturers had left over from last year that did not get used because they were too late getting it to market has now been dumped into this year's shot because it is now about to expire and they want to get their money? Will the flu shot be without the H1N1 additive when all they had on hand is used up? In short, is it safe?
Sloppy dressing
Hooray for Newburyport. The people are going to have to dress like professionals to come to work. There will be no jeans or blue denim of any sort. The large offices in Boston put an end to the dressing down on Fridays because it got out of hand. The sloppier they dressed, the more it showed in their work and absenteeism. It should not be a surprise to anyone. Ever since Woodstock and hard rock took over it just kept getting worse. We are now the sloppiest country in all the industrial world.
Sports hearings
Does Congress have nothing more to do than harass sports figures about drug use? I don't remember learning anything about this being part of the charge the Constitution gives to Congress in its role of helping to govern this nation. How many tax dollars have been spent on this? Wake up, folks, because we've been fooled again!
