Haverhill news in brief

Eagle-Tribune

Riverside-Bradford Baseball now offers a PONY (Protect Our Nations Youth) division for the 2007 season. Thirteen-year-olds have the choice of this format or Haverhill Senior Baseball. Both allow leading, pick-offs and all other major league baseball rules. The only difference is the size of the field. In previous Riverside-Bradford years, the diamond had a 46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot basepaths. The PONY diamond that the Massachusetts division held games on last year had a 48-foot pitching distance and 70-foot basepaths. Contact Colin LePage at 978-372-8727 or clepage@rbbaseball.org.
