Vandals badly damage car in Lawrence

LAWRENCE — A 2005 Mitsubishi Montero was targeted by vandals who flattened two tires, smashed windows, cut the leather upholstery and scratched the paint, police said.

The car's owner told Officer Michael Colantuoni that she had parked the car in the lot across from her Alder Street home Tuesday night, and discovered the damage when she went to the car at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The front and rear passenger side tires had been flattened and the driver's side rear and cargo area windows were smashed with a brick.

The victim told Colantuoni she has no problems in the neighborhood and has no idea who might have damaged her vehicle.

The incident was reported at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
