Letter: Supreme Court nomination exposes Obama's Marxist objectives

To the editor:

The president's political adroitness is on full display: Rewarding his left-wing base with his recent Supreme Court nominee, orchestrating his mainstream media marketing machine to build a fortified wall of protection around her, impenetrable to criticism from the right, confident that the anesthetized center will remain subdued by his dulcet pap.

Judge Sotomayor has propagated fundamental racist policy from the bench, boldly flaunting her radical leftist ambitions along the way. Once her record is fully examined, her confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court should be unthinkable. However, will Senate Republicans do their duty, demanding an account of her radical statements and judicial record? If so, they will also expose the true Marxist objectives of this president.

This president has shown no regard for our laws. He appoints tax cheats to high profile cabinet positions. He never paid his parking tickets at Harvard until he ran for office. Our Constitution is a speed-bump to his desires. He was never held accountable for his views, objectively examined or tested during the campaign and the result is a president elected on false pretences, zero credentials and a bogus appeal to the uninformed.

The Senate Republicans need to take their Viagra for this confirmation process to avoid total political impotence. They need to show us that they have solid core values and not Powell-ish fickleness. Even though Democrats have an absolute super majority, Republicans can at least sound the alarm of where this once great nation is headed: Devastating state incursion, diminishing individual rights cloaked in judicious rectitude.

The notion that Republicans need to tread lightly because of Sotomayor's heritage is preposterous and racist at its core. If Republicans let this opportunity pass, and allow the Obama Administration and the media to set the rules of engagement, we lose.
