LONDONDERRY — A 23-year-old Derry man is accused of pulling a gun during a fight at a party on Gilcreast Road.

Brett Rousseau, of 5-A Park Ave., was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. He is charged with criminal threatening (use of a deadly weapon) and carrying a loaded handgun without a license, according to police Lt. Scott Saunders.

Rousseau is to face the charges Oct. 14 in Derry District Court, police Lt. Mark Cagnetta said.

Police released Rousseau over the weekend after he posted $5,000 cash bail.

About 75 people were at the party when the fight broke out, according to police. Many of the guests left when officers arrived.

The woman who hosted the party called police when she saw the gun, Cagnetta said. The woman, who also pointed Rousseau out to police officers, said she saw him holding the firearm behind his back.

Cagnetta said police patted Rousseau down and found the gun. Rousseau told police he had a license to carry a firearm. Police found although he did have a license at one time, it had expired.

"He displayed it, which is enough for criminal threatening," Cagnetta said.
