Haverhill police log: Masked man robbed convenience store, police say

HAVERHILL — A man wearing a mask robbed a River Street convenience store without showing a weapon, police said.

A store worker told police the man entered the White Hen Pantry at 56 River St. about 7:15 p.m. Monday, wearing a black mask, black gloves and a blue jacket, and demanded money.

The worker told police he opened the cash drawer and handed the robber $142 in cash, and the robber then reached for the drawer next to the register and took a bag containing coins, two books of train tickets and $230 in small bills.

The worker told police the robber appeared to know where the bag was kept.

The man fled toward River Street. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man, police said.

Theft: 23 Victor St., 4:30 p.m.

Arrest: Michael Bonbon, 23, 3 Leblanc St., intimidation of a witness, 40 Bailey Blvd., 6:30 p.m.

Noise complaint: Federal Street and Hilldale Avenue, 6:54 p.m.

Noise complaint: Vine and White streets, 7:24 p.m.

Arrest: Melissa Cunningham, 34, 1 Marion St., assault and battery on a household member, 1 Marion St., 8:30 p.m.

Burglary: 41 Kernwood Ave., 9:21 p.m.

Loud music: 1 Lincoln St., 10:23 p.m.

Loud music: 157 S. Main St., 11:20 p.m.

Arrest: Maxwell Corey, 18, 16 Coventry Lane, Atkinson, N.H., driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop for a police officer, giving a false name to a police officer, driving after suspension, minor transporting alcoholic beverages, Winter Street, 11:07 p.m.
