Letter: Fiorentini is a voice for education

To the editor:

My brother and I grew up in a home where the value and importance of education was emphasized every day. Our father was a teacher and I became a teacher.

My brother started a school to teach dropouts when he was a VISTA Volunteer, then he went on to earn a degree as a lawyer. As a city councilor, my brother fought for money for education in Haverhill, and has always supported better schools. As mayor, he's made more than $1 million in school building improvements, completed a $27 million renovation project at the high school, updated text books in the elementary schools and MCAS scores have increased.

My brother is James Fiorentini. I know from a lifetime of sharing our family's values that education is my brother's top priority.

I wanted you to know about my brother. I'll be supporting him in November because he is the candidate to improve our education system. I hope you will join me.
