Salvation Army kettle campaign set to begin

HAVERHILL — The Salvation Army in Haverhill will kick off its Christmas red kettle campaign at a breakfast honoring local heroes on Nov. 12.

The breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at DiBurro's in Ward Hill. Tickets are $25 each. The public is invited. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 978-374-7571 or stop by The Salvation Army, 395 Main St., weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

'The Music Man' takes the stage

BRADFORD — Bradford Christian Academy will perform Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" on Nov. 12-14 in the Fine Arts Center at Zion Bible College, 320 S. Main St.

Show times will be tomorrow and Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. for the matinee.

The show features a full cast and orchestra and includes more than 40 students from Bradford Christian Academy, students from Zion Bible College and local professionals and amateurs.

Award-winning wines highlight fundraiser

HAVERHILL — Zorvino Vineyards of Sandown, N.H., will present six of its award-winning vintages at a wine tasting fundraiser Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St.

The event, which is open to the public, will include a silent auction featuring Celtics tickets. Proceeds will benefit the Temple's religious school.

Zorvino will donate a portion of its proceeds as well. Wines will be available for purchase.

Cheese and crackers, and coffee will be served.

Advice for women heading back to school

HAVERHILL — Northern Essex Community College will hold a free Women Returning to School Information Fair on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Technology Center of the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.

The event is designed to help ease common anxieties and apprehensions about returning to school after being away from the classroom for some time. Participants will learn how to enroll, apply for financial aid and access support services. For information or to reserve a space, call 978-556-3735.

Concert tickets available

HAVERHILL — The Haverhill Council on Aging and Recreation Department still has tickets available for the Michael Amante concert taking place Nov. 21 at Lawrence High School.

The encore concert, being presented by the St. Alfio Society of Lawrence, will be at 7:30 p.m. in the school's Performing Arts Center, 71 N. Parish Road, Lawrence.

New wellness center opens at MVH

HAVERHILL — "Healthy Alternatives," the Center for Wellness, is now open at Merrimack Valley Hospital.

Licensed health care professionals are offering massage, Reiki, reflexology and acupuncture. The center is in the physical therapy department on the fourth floor, Suite 402, of the medical office building attached to the hospital, 62 Brown St.
