ANDOVER — Helium Inc. in Andover has added three industry veterans to its team.
Peter Newton, who most recently served as Monster.com's senior vice president and GM of Monster's media alliances, has been named Helium's vice president of business development. Joining the Helium board of directors is former president of Monster Steven Pogorzelski, and joining the Helium board of advisors is former executive vice president of The Boston Globe Alfred S. Larkin Jr.
Newton will focus on driving partnerships and strategic relationships with media companies, including newspapers, worldwide. Newton acquired more than 200 partners during his tenure at Monster.com. As Monster's senior vice president/GM, he was responsible for growing the company's small- and medium-sized business segment. A longtime newspaper industry veteran, he spent 18 years with The Boston Globe, where he served as vice president of advertising.
Pogorzelski spent more than a decade in various executive roles at Monster, where he was responsible for sales and customer development in more than 40 countries worldwide. Pogorzelski has 23 years of recruitment and advertising agency experience.
Larkin recently served as executive vice president of The Boston Globe. During his 36-year tenure there, he served as vice president and assistant to the publisher, and has held a variety of positions including political reporter, Sunday Magazine editor, assistant managing editor for local news, and Sunday managing editor.

LAWRENCE — Metro Credit Union will collect supplies for its School Supply Drive through Aug. 30 at its Lawrence branch, located at 215 South Broadway.
Donations of backpacks, pencils, pens, notebooks, crayons and any other new school supplies are needed. Metro will distribute the supplies to local school districts for children in need before the school year starts.
