NORTH ANDOVER — Moody, Famiglietti and Andronico, LLP, a proactive CPA and consulting firm, has named as partners Richard Pacheco of Arlington and Julie Viola of North Andover.

Pacheco will continue in his role as managing director of MFA Cornerstone Consulting's Performance and Controls and Litigation Support Practices, leveraging his expertise in business process improvement, compliance, financial analysis, business valuations, fraud, forensic accounting and litigation support.

Viola has been an integral part of MFA's tax department for the last 12 years and has extensive experience in providing tax planning, consulting and compliance services to MFA clients.

Moody, Famiglietti and Andronico, LLP moved from North Andover to Tewksbury last year.

NORTH ANDOVER — Vitale Caturano, a full-service CPA firm, has promoted former North Andover resident Paul DiFilippo, CFA, to shareholder.

NORTH ANDOVER — The new owners of Palaestra Gymnastics Academy, DeWayne Davenport and Barbara Getchell, recently announced that they have renamed the business "Legends Gymnastics."

Legends will continue to offer preschool and recreational classes for boys and girls, parent and tot programs and USAG Competitive Team Levels. Legends is located at 25 Orchard Hill Road in North Andover.

LOWELL — John H. Pearson Jr., president of Butler Bank, recently presented the first installment check of $2,500 to the Merrimack Repertory Theatre. Butler Bank is making a total donation of $5,000 to MRT for its 30th anniversary season.

WINDHAM, N.H. — Michael D. Broderick of Windham has been elected by the Massachusetts Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division Nominating Committee as chair of the association's Young Lawyers Division, for the 2008-09 year. Broderick is assistant regional counsel for the Department of Children and Families, where he represents the department in all aspects of litigation before the Juvenile Courts. The MBA's Young Lawyers Division is designed for attorneys in practice for 10 years or less.

Broderick has been an active member of the MBA's Young Lawyers Division, serving as the Essex County Regional Director since 2006, and as chair of the nominating committee from September 2006 until April 2007. Before working for the Department of Children and Families, Broderick was a litigation attorney for DeBruyckere, Petrillo & Fulton PLLC in Dracut.
