Kenneth and Phyllis Mertz of Salem, N.H, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Aimee Lynn to John M. O'Connell, son of Marian and James O'Connell of Metuchen, N.J.

Aimee is the granddaughter of Mary and Ralph Vir of Salem, N.H.

Aimee is a graduate of Salem High School. She graduated from Northeastern University where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2008. She is employed in a residency program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

John is a graduate of Metuchen High School. He graduated from Northeastern University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2007. He is employed at PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Boston.

John proposed to Aimee on Dec. 30, 2008. Plans for the wedding will be in the summer of 2010.
