Mary C. Cannon
and Derek J. Michaels
Fran and Mary Alice Cannon of Lansdale, Pa. happily announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Catherine, to Derek Jordan Michaels, son of Dr. Frank and Susan Michaels of Windham, N.H.
Mary graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2006 with a double major in Journalism and Geography. She met Derek while competing on the UConn ski team. Mary is passionate about animals, and makes her career working as a veterinary technician at Bolton Veterinary Hospital in Manchester, Conn.
Derek is a 2002 graduate of Salem High School, and also graduated from UConn with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed as a lead project engineer for repair development for Pratt and Whitney.
Both Derek and Mary will work in Stavanger, Norway for two years, before returning to Connecticut.
A wedding is planned for July 25, 2009 at the Mount Washington Resort Hotel in Bretton Woods, N.H.
