Cool, refreshing, bubbly — and with grapefruit as an ingredient, this drink might even be (a little) healthy. Try it at your next barbecue.

Ingredients:

1 bottle pinot grigio

1/2 cup gin or vodka

1/2 cup simple syrup (equal parts hot water and sugar, mixed and cooled)

1/2 cup white grapefruit, cut into half wheels

1/2 cup ruby red grapefruit, cut into quarters, then sliced

Soda water as needed

Combine all ingredients except soda water in a large ceramic or glass container. Refigerate covered for at least four hours (best if overnight). Serve over ice with soda water.
