Little Sprouts offers special needs training

METHUEN — Parenting Resource Associates (PRA) will offer "Understanding and Working with Children with ADD/ADHD" on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Little Sprouts Early Education Center, Valley Office Park, 13 Branch St.

The special-needs training workshop is geared for early childhood educators, teachers, child care providers, and others working with children and families.

A $25 fee applies. Preregistration is required.

Free wellness workshop

SALEM, N.H. — "The Magnificent Human Immune System and The Cancer Connection" will be presented on Monday, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Granite State Baptist Church, 1 Sandhill Road.

Learn how incredible the human body is and what can be done to help one's immune system get stronger and stay stronger.

The free workshop will be presented by the Foundation For Wellness Professionals. Open to the public.

Alzheimer's disease workshop offers aid

HAVERHILL — The Alzheimer's Association is offering an overview of Alzheimer's disease at a workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Merrimack Valley Hospital, 140 Lincoln Ave.

"Getting Started: What to Do When a Family Member Has Memory Loss" covers diagnosis, addresses behavior and communication problems, and how to find local resources.

The workshop is free and open to public. Registration is required. To register, call 800-272-3900.

Natural solutions to digestive disorders

SALEM, N.H. — The Foundation For Wellness Professionals will give a presentation regarding natural solutions to digestive disorders on Monday, Nov. 17, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kelley Library, 234 Main St.

Digestive disorders include acid reflux, hiatal hernia, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis and Crohn's disease.

The guest speaker is Dr. Heather Lescarbeau.

Free Yoga class for cancer support

SALEM, N.H. — Devi Dawn, healer and yoga teacher, is offering a free toga class for cancer patients, survivors and caretakers at the Self Awakening Yoga Studio, 352 S. Broadway.

The classes will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of every month.

According to Dawn, the discipline can help control insomnia, reduce stress, calm the mind, aid grief relief, and is particularly vital for people in cancer treatment. The healing traditions of Chi Gong, Tong Ren, Reiki and meditation will also be explored.
