Windham residents report storm damage
WINDHAM — The town has received reports from residents of $91,378 in uncovered losses as a result of last month's ice storm. These include any out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result of the storm.
The reports are informal estimates, and not actual claims.
Fire Chief Tom McPherson will submit the figures to the New Hampshire Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
FEMA will look at the Windham losses and those from other towns to determine if the state has reached the threshold to be considered eligible for individual emergency assistance.
The state has already been declared eligible for public assistance from FEMA. Public assistance will be provided to qualifying towns for overtime costs and other expenses related to their response to the historic ice storm.
