By Jim Patten
Staff Writer

LAWRENCE — A 15-year-old high school student was arrested after police found him with marijuana.

School Resource Officer Christopher Cote was at the high school dismissal about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, when he was called to the rear of 23 North Parish Road by Gang Unit detectives Jay Heggarty and Alan Andrew, who were with a group of students.

When police arrived they recognized a few of the students as members of a gang know as "Da Block." As police frisked the 15-year-old boy, they found four marijuana roaches and several small bags of marijuana in his pockets.

The boy was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

He was released to his father pending his arraignment in Lawrence Juvenile Court, police said.
