LAWRENCE — Police broke up a party in a Prospect Street apartment that featured a fog machine and a disco light, and arrested two men on charges of keeping a noisy and disorderly house.
Lt. Sean Burke, and officers Jonathan Armano and Paul Rossi were sent to 198 Prospect St., about 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they found 75 to 100 youths in the middle of the street blocking traffic.
Burke said the large group appeared to be arguing with several people on the front porch at 198 Prospect St. over getting the money back they had paid to get into the party.
Burke said when he entered the house he found another 75 to 100 young people in a three-room apartment on the first floor that had most of the furniture removed.
There was a large amount of stereo equipment, along with the disco light and a fog machine.
Police cleared the house until only the two hosts of the party remained.
When officers asked about the angry crowd outside, the hosts told them the people in the group wanted their money back, and then told the officers they were charging $3 per person to get in.
Juan Olivo, 17, 198 Prospect St., and Jose Santana, 18, 188 Bruce St., who police said were the hosts of the party, were arrested and charged with disturbing the peace, and keeping a noisy and disorderly house.
Santana also was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.
