Carnival comes to North Andover

By Drake Lucas

NORTH ANDOVER — The Youth Center's biggest fundraiser has popped up behind the middle school in the form of rides, games and food.

The annual carnival at 495 Main St. will run through Sunday, opening today at 5 p.m. and at noon tomorrow and Sunday.

Rick Gorman, director of the Youth Center, said he hopes to bring in about $20,000 from the fundraiser.

"All money raised goes toward our summer programming, providing summer services for all of our kids," Gorman said.

Activities at the youth center over the summer include adventure programs, recreation trips, sports tournaments, flag football, a basketball league and cooking classes.

Coupons are available on the carnival's Web site (fiestashows.com) for a ride pass that allows unlimited rides on Sunday for $15 during either the 1 to 5 p.m. session or the 5 to 9 p.m. session. Today and tomorrow, customers pay for rides individually.
