Andover synagogue hosts screening of 'Learning, Learning, Learning'

Chabad Lubavitch of Merrimack Valley, 10 Marwood Dr., Andover: Andrei Ouellette leads Judaic Library Talmudic Ethics: Timeless Wisdom for Timely Dilemmas, Wednesdays through June 11, 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Christ Church, 25 Central St., Andover: Choir member Dr. Peter Bell speaks on "Early American congregational singing Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Taize service is May 18 at 5 p.m.

Congregation Beth Israel, 501 S. Main Street, Andover: The synagogue's Sisterhood hosts a fund-raising event to support the Torah Fund campaign of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. The evening includes desserts and the screening of "Learning, Learning, Learning," a video featuring the stories of students at the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Zeigler School of Rabbinic Studies. Cost is an $18 donation to the Torah Fund, which supports Jewish and Rabbinic studies programs around the world.

Corpus Christi, 35 Essex St., Lawrence: Members of the St. Rita Sodality host three days of prayer in honor of St. Rita of Cascia, May 16 to 18. On May 16, the Rev. Kevin Dwyer of the religious and theological department at Merrimack College speaks on St. Rita's life at 7 p.m. There will also be a prayer service, litany to St. Rita and benediction. Sodality members who have passed away will be remembered at a candlelight ceremony, May 17 at 9 a.m. The triumph ends with a Mass of the Roses, May 18 at 9 a.m.

Candlelight procession to honor Our Lady of Fatima and pray for world peace, May 18, 8:30 p.m.

Groveland Congregational, 11 King St., Groveland: Eastern University Choir performs Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

Redeemer Lutheran, 163 E. Haverhill St., Lawrence: Members review "Faithful Journey," the draft of the social statement on human sexuality, Sundays at 11 a.m. Tomorrow's topic is "Human Sexuality, Relationships Outside of Marriage."

Sacred Hearts, South Main Street, Bradford: Sister Anne D'Arcy leads morning of prayer, titled "Becoming the Body of Christ," Wednesday, 10 a.m. to noon.

The Rev. John Leonard leads Bible study on the Book of Genesis, Monday at 1 p.m.

The Rev. Hal Obayashi leads Bible study on the Resurrection of the Christ on Thursdays, 7 p.m.

St. James, Winter Street, Haverhill: Spring concert featuring Easter music, May 18 at 6:30 p.m.

St. Mary of the Assumption, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence: The parish is sponsoring its fourth annual fundraising raffle. Tickets are $100 each and include dinner for two at the May 30 event. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Tickets may be purchased in the parish office, 205 Hampshire St. or by calling 978-685-1111.

St. Michael, 196 Main St., North Andover: Mass of Blessing is May 22, 3 p.m.

St. Monica, Lawrence and Park streets, Methuen: Deacon Andy Goldy and parishioner Mike Tompkins lead Bible study on Hebrews, Wednesday at 7 p.m.

St. Theresa, part of Our Lady of Good Counsel, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen: Cardinal Sean O'Malley, the Most Rev. Emilio Allue and the Rev. Don Reilly, Augustinian provincial, celebrate a Mass of transition May 31, 4 p.m. A reception for the Revs. Bill Waters, pastor, and Tom Casey, will follow. The Augustinian order is withdrawing from St. Theresa and St. Augustine in June.

Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover: Arthur Rosen speaks on "What Would Mohammed Do? An Unauthorized Biography," tomorrow at 10 a.m. Rabbi Robert Goldstein and Cantor Donn Rosensweig lead Shabbat specifically for children, Friday at 5 p.m.

Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St., Haverhill: Healing service is Monday, 11:30 a.m.

A musical Shabbat is Friday at 7:45 p.m. featuring temple-member instrumentalists and singers. An all-chocolate reception follows.

Deborah Wise Feinstein hosts slide show on Jewish art based on her research, May 18 at 9:30 a.m.

West Parish, 129 Reservation Road, Andover: The Rev. Thomas McMillan leads service of remembrance for Memorial Day, May 18 at 2 p.m.
