LAWRENCE — A woman bleeding from the forehead ran to police with an 11-month-old baby in her arms when police responded to a call at 61 Bradford St.

The woman told police her boyfriend was in the next apartment with a knife that he had used to cut her before she called police.

Daniel Andino, 20, refused to come out, but after a few minutes he changed his mind and was arrested by police on charges of assault and battery on a household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime and intimidation of a witness.

The woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police said she told them he started the fight by yelling about the house not being clean. She told police he grabbed the phone and punched her when she tried to call police. She said he then put a knife to her forehead, threatening to cut her and causing a minor cut.

Andino told police he cut the woman by accident when she pulled a knife on him while they were fighting, police said.
