Conn. AG calls on retailers to stop selling Chinese tires

HARTFORD, Conn. - Attorney General Richard Blumenthal called on Connecticut retailers Tuesday to stop selling defective tires made by a Chinese manufacturer, saying the treads could separate and endanger motorists.

U.S. traffic safety officials this week ordered Foreign Tire Sales Inc. of Union, N.J., to recall as many as 450,000 radial tires that it bought from a Chinese manufacturer and sold to U.S. distributors.Read this article in full with a
