Fallen tree limb causes power failure to 1,800 customers

HAVERHILL — About 1,800 National Grid customers lost electricity today after a tree fell on a power line in the Middle Road area.

National Grid spokeswoman Debbie Drew said the outage occurred around 3:30 p.m. She said service to customers in this area had to be shut off while repairs were made.

She said power was restored by 4:30 p.m.

Middle Road is in a rural section in the eastern end of Haverhill.
