July 02, 2009 12:00 am METHUEN — Police are investigating nine car breaks that occurred earlier this week, most on Granite Street. Some cars had windows broken or seats slashed. Radios, GPS devices, stereo speakers and personal items were stolen too, said police Lt. Michael Wnek, the day shift commander. The breaks took place between Monday night and early Tuesday morning, when owners of the vehicles began calling police to report the damages. Eight of the cars were parked at the apartments at 13 Granite St., when thieves struck. Granite Street runs off Oakland Avenue in a thickly settled district, Wnek said. The ninth car was on Merrimack Street, police said. "These are all under investigation," Wnek said. "There are no suspects at this time."
