Loving Legos

METHUEN — Small-scale builders from both near and far packed Nevins Memorial Library to see a Lego master at work Wednesday night.

Methuen native Jamie Berard, who is now a designer for Lego Co. in Denmark, delighted kids big and small during the event, sponsored by Berard Family Chiropractic in Methuen.

The crowd exceeded 100 people and visitors came from as far away as Boston, Medford, Saugus, Peabody and Gloucester, said Amy Berard, Berard's sister-in-law.

Jamie Berard is a graduate of St. Monica School, Central Catholic High School and Merrimack College. During a trip home to visit his family, he carved out time to show off some Lego images he's built and explain to folks how an idea develops over time into a marketable product.
