METHUEN — A contractor working at the Our Place restaurant on Lowell Boulevard discovered a job site trailer had been broken into and $1,465 worth of tools stolen, police said.

Wesley Hunt, owner of Imperial Flooring of Nashua, N.H., told police the trailer was parked in the entrance to the building, which is being remodeled and that he locked it with the tools inside at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hunt told Officer Mark Aiello that he arrived for work about 7:30 a.m. Monday and, as he walked up to the trailer, noticed the lock had been cut.

When he and the restaurant owner checked the inside of the trailer, he noticed numerous tools were missing.

Among the items taken were a DeWalt cordless drill ($150), a Porter-Cable staple gun ($140), a Porter-Cable brad nailer ($140), a Porter-Cable finish nailer ($150), a Porter-Cable framing gun ($270), a Rigid circular saw ($220), a DeWalt battery-powered circular saw ($220) and two Rigid power sanders ($175).
