ATKINSON — Anyone anticipating the annual car show in Atkinson on Labor Day weekend will have to wait another year. The event will not be held this year, due to construction in the area of the fire station.

Plaistow to vote on Westville widening
PLAISTOW — The voters will decide whether to widen Westville Road.
The developers of the new Casey's Plaza and Rite Aid asked the town to split the estimated $78,000 project. Voters had accepted $90,000 from the developer in March for the right-of-way to the road on the other side of the plaza, and developers wanted the funding to come from that payment.
Instead of approving the $39,000 payment, selectmen decided to make it a warrant article for the next Town Meeting. The developers can either move forward with the plaza and hope voters will approve the reimbursement, or wait until spring to begin construction.
The state Department of Transportation is requiring that 150 feet of the road be widened before it will sign the final permits.
Plaistow selectman shows his stuff on film
PLAISTOW — Selectman Buzzy Blinn is a movie star now.
Blinn's B & J Auto Body was the set Saturday for another scene in "27 Down," a film being produced by a North Andover, Mass., production company.
Blinn worked on the air conditioning of a Corvette for three hours while production crews did multiple takes inside his Main Street business. His role is key to resolving the plot, he said.
"The actor cuts his head and it leads to the end of the plot," Blinn said. "My shop is a coverup for an illegal drug operation."
No one famous stopped by, but Blinn said the crew was nice to work with. Until the independent film is finished, Blinn can be seen on Channel 17 Monday nights at 6:30 in his other leading role as selectman.
