Timothy McElhinney was named to the dean's list at UMass Lowell for the 2009 spring semester. McElhinney will enter his junior year in the fall. He is majoring in criminal justice and psychology. He is the son of Kevin and Deborah McElhinney of Methuen.



Phillip Frangules, a 2007 graduate of North Andover High School and a resident of North Andover, graduated with honors from Northern Essex Community College in May. He also received a Leadership Certificate. Frangules, a general studies major, also achieved dean's list honors for the spring 2009 semester. He will attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the fall as a liberal arts major with concentrations in English and comparative arts.



Keri LaBelle of Methuen was inducted this spring to the Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society at Suffolk University in Boston. She was also named to the dean's list for the fall and spring semesters. She is a biochemistry/forensic science major and a 2006 graduate of Methuen High School.



Kevin LaBelle of Methuen earned dean's list recognition for the fall and spring semesters at Northern Essex Community College. He is an engineering major and a 2008 graduate of Methuen High School.



Joshua M. Belko of North Andover graduated from Northeastern University on May 1 with a degree in finance and insurance. Belko is employed by Standish, Structured Financial Products Division, a financial branch of Mellon Bank, in Boston. He was also named to the dean's list. Belko played for the Northeastern Huskies football team and received both a partial and then a full scholarship for the last three years while at Northeastern. He had two co-op rotations working for both MFS Investments and for the State Street foreign currency trading floor. He is the son of the late Joyce (Daher) Belko, former co-owner of Daher Shoes, and John M. Belko Sr. who works as a principal financial analyst at BAE Systems of Nashua, N.H.



Jillian Himmer of Andover was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Fairfield University. Himmer is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Brenda Barron-Himmer.



Jesus Colon Jr., Willy Lam, and Channara San, all of Lawrence, have graduated from St. John's Preparatory School.



Sydney Cooke, 7, daughter of Stephanie and Scott Cooke, has earned the title of the 2009 National American Miss Massachusetts. She will be attending the National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, Calif., at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week, representing Massachusetts, where she will have the opportunity to win her share of over $500,000 in cash and prizes. Cooke's activities include competitive figure skating at Colonial Figure Skating Club, dance at New England Civic Ballet, Brownie Girl Scouts, drawing, reading, shopping and playing with friends. She is going into the second grade at Sargent School in North Andover.



Christopher Carmain and Alexander Veloz, both of Methuen, have graduated from St. John's Preparatory School.



Hannah Vasconcellos Hastings, daughter of Linda Vasconcellos and David Hastings of Andover, has completed her freshman year at Smith College. She was named a First Group Scholar and earned a place on the dean's list for the 2008-2009 school year. Her majors are Portuguese and Brazilian studies and government.



The following North Andover residents have graduated from St. John's Preparatory School — Christopher Bartus, Michael Carroll, Paul DiBlasi, Daniel Eisenberg, Andrew Griffin, Ryan Harding, Andrew Hassey, Kelley Johnson, Michael Masse, Ryan McGillivray, Donald Mendenhall, Daniel Pugliares, Joseph Pullano, Christopher Roehrer-MacGregor, Stephen Tullgren, and Vincent Yadgood.



Amanda Farnola and Sean Branca, both of Andover, have graduated from Champlain College.



James Ford of Andover earned a bachelor of arts in administration of justice from Salve Regina University.



Sarah Goldstein of Andover graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree from Skidmore University.



Meghan Morris of Andover graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Skidmore University.



Patrick Hughes, a graduate of Andover High School, received a bachelor of arts degree from The College of Wooster during commencement exercises on May 11. A psychology major, Hughes is a resident of Andover.



Jessica Birtles and Eileen Marie Duly, both of Andover, have graduated from North Shore Community College.



Marc Boucher, Lisa Carney, John Guarini, Richard Talbot, Amy Taylor, and Tabitha Waithaka, all of Methuen, have graduated from North Shore Community College.



Lisa Manganiello, George Njoroge, Katie Olenio, Lynda Roberts, and Eryk Thomas, all of North Andover, have graduated from North Shore Community College.



The following Methuen residents have graduated from Fitchburg State College — Timothy McCarthy, Regina Rodriguez, Carolyn Williams.



Jennifer Lwowski of North Andover has graduated from Fitchburg State College.



Adriana Montalbano, daughter of Paul and Nancy (Lanzo) Montalbano of Andover, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on May 15. She was also the recipient of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Award during the Convocation and Hooding Ceremony, held May 14, at the John Hancock Hall in Boston. Dr. Montalbano is a third-generation pharmacist, preceded by her father, Paul, and grandfather, Tony Montalbano. She has accepted an offer of employment with CVS Pharmacy.



Jennifer Ciofolo, daughter of Robert and Julia Ciofolo of Methuen, has been named to the College of Engineering dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Northeastern University. She has also been initiated as a member of Chi Epsilon, by the Northeastern University Chapter of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society.



Alicia Specht, daughter of Scott and Rebecca Specht of North Andover, has been named to the dean's list at Hamilton College for the spring 2009 semester. Specht, a junior majoring in art and mathematics, is a graduate of North Andover High School.



Ramon Tejada of Lawrence was honored for his academic excellence at Lafayette College's All-College Honors Convocation. Tejada, a double major in A.B. Spanish and International Economics and Commerce, received the Frank Kline Baker Spanish and Latin American Civilization Award in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.



Tyler Moore, son of Robert and Deborah Moore of North Andover, graduated from Bates College on Sunday, May 31 with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies. Moore, a 2005 graduate of Brooks School, starred in wrestling and was a High School All-American in lacrosse. After Brooks, he studied for one year at St. Lawrence University before transferring to Bates. This past season he was the leading scorer for the Bates Bobcats lacrosse team.



The following North Andover residents have been named to the dean's list at Providence College for the spring 2009 semester — Elida Cristaldi, Ian Cissel, Allison Ferlito, Ryan Reeves.



The following Andover residents have been named to the dean's list at Providence College for the spring 2009 semester — Kelsey Farrell, Christina Conley, Michael Weisenhoff.



Meaghan McComiskey and Matthew Gaudiano, both of Methuen, have been named to the dean's list at Providence College for the spring 2009 semester.



Oluwakemi Fadarey of Lawrence been named to the dean's list at Providence College for the spring 2009 semester.



Kevin Kinneman of North Andover will attend Northeastern University in the fall on a scholarship as part of the National Merit Finalist Scholarship Program. Kinneman graduated from North Andover High School.



Adelle Dagher of Methuen has been chosen as a recipient of The Fish House Foundation's 4-year college scholarship and mentor program. Dagher is a recent graduate of Central Catholic High School and will attend college in the fall.



Daniel Brennan and John Federico, both of Andover, graduated from Quinnipiac University on May 17.



The following Methuen residents have been named to the dean's list for the winter/spring 2009 term at Springfield College — Justine Small, Keith Kupiec, Katherine Shanahan, Meghan Kijanka, Christine Kuchar, Jennifer Courossi, Ryan Dugan.



The following North Andover residents have been named to the dean's list for the winter/spring 2009 term at Springfield College — Erik Garnis, Alison McCarthy, Ross Marchegiani.



Damaris Nunez of South Lawrence was named to the dean's list for the winter/spring 2009 term at Springfield College.



Christopher Cole of Andover graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor's degree on May 17. Cole was an environmental studies major.



Nathan Hass of Andover was named to the dean's list for the 2008 winter quarter at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. Hass is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree from the School of Design.



Amanda Chomicz of Andover graduated with a bachelor of arts in English from Wheaton College on May 16.





Kati Bannister and Kevin DiTroia, both of North Andover, have graduated from Fairfield University.



Rebecca Lindmark of Andover graduated from The Governor's Academy on May 25 and received the Sarah Ellen Avalon Award. This award carries a stipend to aid in buying books for college. Lindmark will attend Saint Anselm College in the fall.



Elizabeth Cieri of North Andover graduated from The Governor's Academy on May 25 and received the Gaffney Prize. She will attend Trinity College in the fall.



Erin Kennedy and Leah Raitt, both of Methuen, have been named to the spring 2009 dean's list at the University of Hartford.



Sr. Francis Helen Lewandowski celebrates 75 years with the Sisters of Bon Secours, in addition to celebrating her 100th birthday Feb. 28. Sr. Lewandowski attended St. Agnes School of Nursing before entering the Sisters of Bon Secours. As a sister, she served as a nurse and administrator in Methuen.



Sarah Goldstein, daughter of Robert and Faith Goldstein of Andover, has earned highest honors for the spring semester at Skidmore College.



Jenna Glendye, daughter of Phillip and Karen Glendye of Lawrence, earned highest honors for the spring semester at Skidmore College.



Kelsey Thorn, daughter of Andrea Thorn of Andover, earned highest honors for the spring semester at Skidmore College.



Jennifer Marino, daughter of Domenic and Kathy Marino of Methuen, received a bachelor's degree from Bates College on May 31. A 2005 graduate of Methuen High School, Marino majored in chemistry at Bates. Her undergraduate activities included four years of varsity soccer, four years of indoor and outdoor track, and holds four school records in track. She was also an Academic All-American. She will begin teaching/coaching fellowship at Phillips Academy in Andover in the fall.



Christopher Gilbert of Methuen, a chemical engineering major at Clarkson University, has earned the distinction of being named a presidential scholar.



Michael Lee of Methuen graduated from Cotting School in Lexington on June 5, at exercises held in the school auditorium.



Stephanie Baez of Lawrence received Salem State's distinguished Silver Key Award at the annual senior awards banquet on May 11. A business accounting major, Baez has a 3.75 grade point average.



Ben Ferry and Nicole Saia, both of Andover, have graduated from Austin Preparatory School.



The following Methuen residents have graduated from Austin Preparatory School — Mohini Bhakta, Robert Filteau, Shane Foley, Tyler Letendre.



The following North Andover residents have graduated from Austin Preparatory School — Alexander James, Amanda Keshian, Mary Tower.



Dean Richard Bilodeau of Andover graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor of arts in journalism and a minor in history. Bilodeau was a board member and public relations director of the URI TV News Group where he had the opportunity to interview hometown celebrity, Jay Leno. He was a contributor during his internship to the morning show at WPRI News Talk Radio, Providence R.I. He collaborated with other class members to create a documentary about the Changing Lives through Literature program offered to inmates in the RI Adult Corrections Facility.



Kerry Haugh and Jeffrey Farmer, both of Andover, were named to the dean's list for the winter/spring 2009 term at Springfield College.


