Hampstead moves forward with study HAMPSTEAD — The work study committee formed to see whether Hampstead needs a public works director elected Colleen King chairwoman and Kim Colbert vice chairwoman. The committee decided the scope of its study would be to determine the role, responsibilities and job description of a public works director; to decide on the required qualifications for the position; to determine the appropriate salary and benefits for the position; and to make a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen. At the committee's meeting Sept. 24, members will share the information they have gathered, then study what other towns pay for a similar position and what their job requirements are.
