LAWRENCE — Two city teenagers were arrested and charged with breaking into a car parked in a South Union Street lot after the license plate of the car they were using was traced back to the car's owner.
Officer Carlos Gonzalez was sent to the lot about 11:57 a.m. Sunday, where he spoke to the owner of the car, who told him two coworkers had seen the teenagers and one of them was inside the victim's car.
Police said the coworkers wrote down the license plate of the car the pair drove away in, and after speaking to the two teenagers, Gonzalez was able to trace the car back to the owner, who is the sister of one of the teenagers.
After an investigation, the two were arrested, police said.
Christopher Delarosa, 17, of 45 Milton St., brother of the car owner, and Eduardo Joaquin, 17, of 18 Cedar St., were both charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and malicious damage to property over $250.
