LAWRENCE — Police are seeking a 24-year-old city woman they said used a metal drawer slide to assault two women and steal a gold necklace from one of them at a Lawrence Street market.
The woman stopped in front of Urena Market, 206 Lawrence St., about 10:05 p.m. Monday, got out of her car, and removed a metal bar from the trunk, police said witnesses told them.
The victims told Officer Keith Salach the woman entered the store and struck one of them on the left side of her head and cutting her.
That victim told police she knew her attacker because her boyfriend was formerly dating her and they have a child together.
The attacker then struck a woman behind the counter at the store and grabbed a gold chain from around her neck.
The attacker ran out the door as three men tried to subdue her, got into her car and fled, police said.
Salach recovered the drawer slide used in the attack and has obtained arrest warrants for the attacker charging her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts, assault and battery, and armed robbery, police said.
