He was Lancelot. He was King Arthur. To us, he'll always be the little boy from Lawrence who sang at the now closed St. Anne's Church.
Singer and actor Robert Goulet, 73, died Tuesday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles while awaiting a lung transplant.
The Eagle-Tribune is collecting condolences from his family, friends and fans here in the Merrimack Valley.

As a former Lawrencian, with many relatives in the city, I have always been proud to have been born and raised in Lawrence.
Equally, I was always excited to hear that great successful singers like yourself and legendary conductors like Leonard Bernstein were also born in this great city.
As you await your transplant, may God be with you and your family and may we hear your great voice once again.
From one proud Lawrencian to another,
Geoffrey Fulgione

I have been a lifelong fan of your work. You were epic in Camelot and are now a wordly renowned star from your Emerald Nuts commercial. I have acted as you many times in Ohio State University productions. In fact, I wish to have your blessing to produce my series "Snoozin' on the Rocks" Starring myself as you and my fellow classmate Andrew Rigney as Neil Diamond. It's like the odd couple....but different. The premise is that you are struggling with the fact that you are not as famous as you once were and along comes Neil Diamond to Las Vegas, your town. You hear this and become enraged in classic Goulet humor. Eventually, you discover that Diamond is moving into the apartment across the hall from you, and the odd couple-like atmosphere begins. It's a classic struggle of a laid-back Neil Diamond receiving all the fame, followed by a jealous Goulet who must prove his worth as both a singer and a celebrity (Not in any way is this true, but would provide for great television).
I wish you the best as you have inspired me to create this series, and when you get better, I would love to have your blessing for this series.
Thank you for everything so far and for everything that is to come.
Snoozebar Smith
I know the transplant operation will be successful & you will give others, as well as myself, many more moments and hours of musical joy .
