Race raises $20,000 for cancer research

The 9th annual Larry Robinson 10 Miler & 5K Road Race raised $20,000 for advanced cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute yesterday at Andover High School.

Larry Robinson was a former principal at Andover who died of cancer.

Andover's Adam Holmes won the men's division of the 5-K race with a time of 17:17 while Andover's Caroline Bjune (19:40) won the women's division.

Methuen's Lou Peters, 84, won for his age division again.

Norwood's Kevin Gorman was the top men's finisher in the 10-mile race and Raynham's Amanda Kourtz was the female winner.

The race has raised $180,000 in nine years.
