LAWRENCE — A city man was sentenced to 12 to 15 years in state prison after his conviction on two counts of child rape.
Joseph Tingle, 30, was found guilty after a one-day trial and three days of jury deliberations in Salem Superior Court, said Steve O'Connell, spokesman for the Essex district attorney's office.
The jury returned its verdicts late Friday afternoon, O'Connell said.
Prosecutor Jean Curran proved that Tingle raped a young girl in Lawrence on two different dates sometime during the period between 1998 and 1999, O'Connell said.
The victim, now 18, took the stand during the trial.
