LAWRENCE — A man walked in on another man who was burglarizing his home, police said.

The victim told Detective Jeffrey Hart he found the man inside his Linden Street home about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The man fled out a back door carrying a black duffel bag, police said.

Among the items taken were a 26-inch Vizio LCD television, a woman's jacket, an iPod Nano, a gold chain with a crucifix, a woman's gold bracelet and the duffel bag. When police searched the area, they found the television in grass a short distance from the bathroom window where the burglar entered the house.

The burglar was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a light complexion, wearing light tan work boots and a long dark jacket with a red patch at the bottom, police said.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the man, police said.
