Family's forced move cuts into Christmas money

By Mary E. Hart , Correspondent
Eagle-Tribune

Samantha and her husband, Joe, are victims of the recent home foreclosure crisis.

The couple did not own a home, but they rented from someone who bought property and was unable to make the mortgage payments.

The bank took ownership of the home, and everyone had to go.

Forced out of their apartment just weeks before Christmas, Samantha and Joe have been lucky enough to find a new place to live.

But the cost of moving wiped out the little bit of savings they had put away for holiday gifts for their children, ages 6 and 8.

Grateful for a place to live, Samantha and Joe want nothing for themselves. But they hate to disappoint their children, who have been uprooted from the only home and neighborhood they have ever known.

Samantha and Joe have asked The Eagle-Tribune Santa Fund to provide a little bit of holiday happiness for their son and daughter, who handled the move without complaint.

Your donation can help the family make new memories in a new home.
