Haverhill police: Thieves stole $500 worth of copper pipe

HAVERHILL — Police said someone pried open a side window at 6 Maxwell St., sometime between April 25 and May 1, and took $500 worth of copper pipe out of the basement.

Police said the damaged window will cost $200 to repair.

The following items were taken from the Haverhill police log for Thursday:

Break: 170 Washington St., No. 603, 7:59 a.m.

Arrest: Wilfred Lavalley, 31, 4 Grant St., operating with a suspended license, 12:30 p.m., Lincoln Avenue.

Arrest: Luis Quinones Jr., 44, Wethersfield, Conn., entering a dwelling in the nighttime, larceny, sexual conduct for a fee, 1:30 p.m., 40 Bailey Blvd.

Power wire down: 487 Groveland St., 2:41 p.m.

Shoplifting: Market Basket, 400 Lowell Ave., 4:57 p.m.

Arrest: Wayne Fontes Jr., 18, 24 Atwood Road, possession of a class D substance, threat to commit a crime, 7:30 p.m., 767 Main St.

Road rage: Observatory Avenue and Washington Street, 8:38 p.m.

Arrest: Lizandra Torres, 22, 8 Primrose St., No. 9, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, 8:30 p.m., 8 Primrose St.

Arrest: Alexander Cooley, 19, 27 Victor St., No. 21, assault and battery on a household member, 10 p.m., 27 Victor St.
