TV personality visits Haverhill Boys Club

The public is invited to meet plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey of the television series "This Old House" tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Haverhill Boys Club, 55 Emerson St.

Trethewey will tour the Boys Club building and offer energy-saving tips. The club recently completed a cost-effective heating project with the help of Uptack Plumbing and Heating, along with the "This Old House" group. More information is available by calling 978-374-6171.

Alzheimer's program has grand opening

The Harbor Program at Haverhill Crossings, 254 Amesbury Road, will hold its grand opening Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Haverhill Crossings invested nearly $2 million to develop and launch the program, which accommodates up to 24 residents in a secure environment as they deal with Alzheimer's disease.

Letter carrier food drive Saturday

Letter carriers will hold a food drive Saturday.

Food items collected will help replenish local food pantries. Bags of food can be left where the mail is dropped off and letter carriers will pick up the items and bring them to the Salvation Army for distribution to six pantries in Haverhill.

EZ Trans service presentation

The city's Council on Aging will host a presentation on the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority's EZ Trans service for seniors and residents with disabilities May 15 at 10 a.m. in the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

Representatives from the MVRTA will be available to answer questions about the service. There will be a short presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session. Applications and brochures will be available at the presentation, as well as at the Senior Center. More information is available from Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.
