HAVERHILL — The 19th annual golf tournament of the Haverhill Kiwanis Charitable Foundation is set for June 2 at Haverhill Country Club.

Proceeds from the tournament help advance the goals of the club in its work with children.

Among the projects that benefit are camperships for boys and girls to attend various summer programs in the area.

Kiwanis rewards the trade student of the year with money to buy equipment for the trade in which the student specialized at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School.

In addition, Kiwanians will recognize more than 30 of the highest-ranking seniors graduating from area high schools.

Besides 18 holes of golf, the tournament will have a putting contest, closest-to-the-pin contests, a $50,000 grand prize, a longest drive contest and single and net gross prizes.

Lunch and dinner are included in the entrance fee.

Working with President Patricia Horgan on planning and preparations are golf veterans Jim Maroney and John Katsaros and several members of the club.
