WEST NEWBURY — Registration is underway for SummerBlast!
This creative community arts program is sponsored by the Pentucket Fine and Performing Arts Foundation.
Now in its second year, the two-week program runs weekdays from July 7 to 18 at Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury.
The program offers:
Kidz Arts: Students entering grades one through six will spend two magical weeks immersed in a daylong exploration of theater, music and visual arts. Extended day care is available. Kidz Arts will be led by Mia Leonard-Solis, a teacher at Brearley School in Manhattan.
Teen Workshops: Offered to students in grades seven and above. Participants will produce a short film; learn 3-D illustration or a new dance step or two; act in a play; write a song, a poem or a story; paint or draw; play the violin; or learn to shoot and develop photographs. Morning and afternoon/evening workshops are available. Teen Workshops are led by Pentucket art teachers and alumni artists.
More information on the program and registration is available at www.pfpaf.org by clicking on "SummerBlast!" or calling 978-363-2013. Deadline to register is June 6. The PFPAF is a nonprofit organization that produces revenue directly supporting arts education and programming for the Pentucket Regional schools.
